A former broadcast journalist for the leading television network in New Zealand, Kate recently completed a PhD in Health Science specialising in Global Maternal Health. Her research took her around the globe where she witnessed the very real and often dangerous struggle women face to become mothers.
In her 10 years as a Lead Maternity Carer, Kate guided many heterosexual and same sex couples, who predominantly conceived their children via advanced fertility treatments, through their pregnancy, birth, and the postnatal period. Today, as well as her consultancy, she still practices as a health professional part-time, specialising in the first week postpartum.
